A living small-town simulator where residents are born, fall in love, get stuck in traffic and send you utterly absurd improvement ideas. Play solo – or build one shared city side by side with a friend.
More than you'd expect. Usually more than you'd like.
Every townsperson is a real individual: born, off to daycare and school, graduating into a profession, going to work, falling in love, starting a family and eventually… well, every story ends sometime.
They have an inherited surname, a branching family tree and a firm opinion on every decision you make. Plan the roads badly and you'll hear about it – straight from a resident's diary.
”Third time this month,” laments resident Pentti in his dark kitchen.
Every month the local paper comes out and reports everything that matters: who moved in, who was born, where the power went out and who tripped at the sawmill. The headlines are written from your city's real events.
There are always a couple of residents' sharp opinions – usually about your leadership skills. The paper is also archived, so you can browse your town's history later on.
Residents constantly send improvement suggestions – thousands of them. Most are pure nonsense, some are downright brilliant, and the rest are somewhere in between.
But hidden among them are real hints about the city's actual needs. Your task is simple: tell the diamonds from the ducks.
Over a hundred innate health traits – half blessings, half curses, all ridiculously named. They're inherited from parents, and if the gene pool gets too tight, inbreeding adds… extra spice to the game.
On top of that, hundreds of location-specific accidents: a slip at the sawmill, a fatal lunch at the restaurant, a mishap in the park. Build a health station and staff it with trained personnel – or live dangerously.
Aino backs her turquoise Korvex Tundra out of the driveway and zips off to work, while three doors down someone coaxes a 30-year-old Mopler Viima back to life on hope and petrol fumes. Plenty of models, something for everyone, and every single resident owns one, in their own colour.
Spoiler: it's you. Bins fill up week after week and the garbage never takes itself out – so plonk down a landfill, run a road to it, and hire the lowest-paid crew in town to keep the heap moving.
Ignore it and things turn gloriously grim: rubbish bags pile up across the yards, the stink creeps all the way into the bedrooms, swarms of flies lay claim to entire blocks, and your once-cheerful citizens curdle into a furious mob.
